The TCC-28 is an automatic tube cutting station with many options. The cutting range for copper and aluminum is 4.76 - 22 mm (0.06” -1.125”) and for mild steel max. 10 mm (0.39”) for mild steel. The system has the ability to change the cutting length fully automatically with an integrated batch production management system. Material can be fed from several types of uncoiling systems.
When cutting different lengths, it is practical to use a routing table to separate the lengths. Different routing tables are available for working with maximum cutting lengths from 2,000 mm to 6,000 mm (78” to 236”).
When cutting from the coil, a vertical double coil holder or a vertical coil holder and tube straightener is used. The advantage of the double coil holder is the fast changeover time; while one coil is being cut, the other can be changed without interrupting production.
Depending on the diameter of the pipe, either 7+7 or 9+9 straightener rolls are used in the straightening process. T-DRILL has paid special attention to the easy adjustment of the rolls and the speed with which they can be changed. In addition to adjusters with digital display, there are changeover mechanisms that allow the straightener rolls to be changed without the use of tools.
The machine can change the cutting length automatically with a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.1 mm (+/- 0.0039″). The cutting length will be programmed on a touch screen panel. It is also easy to diagnose the causes of possible error conditions using the panel.
Direct cutting is the most basic method of cutting pipes with rotary cutting wheels for cutting lengths of 30 mm (XX) or with specific equipment for longer lengths. The method can be used where some reduction of the inside diameter is acceptable.

This makes it easier to carry out secondary operations as the cut quality is usually good enough without deburring and chamfering of the tube ends. The method also allows for easy chaining of different processes such as cutting + tube end forming/bending.
