The S-54 collaring machine with Automatic Feeding Table (AFT) offers a solution for automatically opening collars (manifolds, collection pipes) in the range 6-54 mm (¼” - 2⅛”).
Using a touch screen for input, the T-DRILL Interface provides on-screen prompts to guide the operator through the programming process.
Up to 300 different programs can be stored, each with as many as 300 steps. These programs can be stored as templates that can later be modified or completely rewritten. These programs can contain steps that allow the operator to operate on parts not related to the T-DRILL process and then move on. Programs can be written, edited and stored on external workstations and moved to the T-DRILL interface as needed.
Standard lengths for automatic feeding tables are for pipes with maximum dimensions of 1,500, 2,500, 3,500, 3,500, 4,500, 4,500, 6,000 and 8,000 mm 59”, 96”, 118”, 236” and 315”. Other lengths are available on request.
Operated pipe diameter for each table length is 8(10)-108 mm (5/16” - 4⅛”)
Collar opening range 6-54 mm (¼” - 2⅛”) for copper and aluminum
Collar opening range 10-54 mm (¼” - 2⅛”) for mild and stainless steel
Minimum pipe length 50 mm (2”)
Applications;
The new S-54 machine with AFT is often used for the production of air conditioning and floor heating equipment and solar panel manifolds. The T-DRILL collaring method significantly improves the quality of pipe joints. It also makes the brazing process easier to carry out as the collar connects the branch in the correct position, allowing brazing to be carried out without other fixtures.

Operation cycle
The pipe is connected to the pipe transport unit.
A suitable collar opening program is selected from the NC controls.
An automatic loop is started.
When all collars are ready, the drive returns to the loading position.
The operator changes the pipe and repeats the program by starting the NC-cycle or selecting a new program.
The cycle time depends on the number and size of collars to be opened as well as the material used. For example, it takes 65 seconds to produce ten 8 mm (5/16’) outlets spaced 100 mm (4’’) apart on a 1,500 mm (60’”) long copper manifold.
